Using social media and web tools doesn’t always have to be just for fun. The advent of “gov 2.0″ is also using technology to allow citizens to partake in their communities through new and innovative ways. Perhaps you already live in a city that is using new tools to create a better community, or maybe this will be of interest because of how you can use it.

In many places, using your smartphone to report problems like graffiti and potholes on streets is becoming the norm. Governments appreciate getting feedback digitally, and there is less redundancy when people can submit their issues over the web. The smartphone and other mobile technologies are essentially becoming more than just a tool for socializing.
