December 6th, 2011 by adminWho’s Free for the Ice Hockey World Champs ?
May 12th, 2011 by adminWell, well, well, there is definetly a lot of major sport happening worldwide. Table Tennis world champs continue, the NBA playoffs & NHL playoffs are drawing to a close & the French Open Tennis starts next Sunday. Now we have the finals of the Ice Hockey World Champs: man its raining championships!!
Anyway the best teams from round the world are battling out right now. Last night, the US team were knocked out by the Czechs & only today the favorite Canadians were bundled out by the Russians. Seems like the cold war all over again, but this time the Eastern Europeans have won! There has been mad hysteria this past week in many Nordic & European countries with people meeting up everywhere at Beer Gardens & watering holes to down some beers & follow the action.
Check out some of the ice hockey action below:
Now we want to know: Who will YOU be watching the Ice Hockey finals with?
We just chucked up a Question on our Facebook page – go to it & let us know who you want to watch the finals with:
Jaromir Jagr, Your Grandma, maybe even Megan Fox?
So check out our Facebook page, answer our question & meet up with your friends more easily this weekend by downloading our app. Oh while your at it follow us on Twitter
. Good luck to the teams in the finals & guys let us know how you celebrated!
Catch ya later!
Who’s Free at WTTC ?
May 10th, 2011 by adminNo not the World Trade Center (even though there were a tonne of people at Ground Zero recently) – im talking about the World Table Tennis Championships. Yep ping pong is cool again & the World Champs are on right NOW! We’re there with the players & they love the Who’s Free app as much at table tennis fans love them. Check it out:
SO who do you think’s going to take the title? The Chinese team going to steamroll the competition again or will a European come through with the goods?! Its exciting stuff & the action is heating up. Even I feel like playing a quick game; more so when I watch this:
Were hanging with the top players at the champs, so any Qs or requests for tips, contact us. Oh yeah of course like our Facebook page & follow us on Twitter, so you can keep updated on whats happening. Finally get the app that people & players alike are using here at WTTC to meetup: Who’s Free.
Who’s Free for Table Tennis ?
May 5th, 2011 by adminYou know the game!? You played it when you were young in your basement with your mates in between marathon Mario Brothers sessions & stuffing yourself with candy. It is one of Hollywood’s unlikeliest pastimes, involves 2 people, a couple of vaguely S&M wooden paddles and a hollow plastic ball. Whisper it: ping-pong is cool.
Well Table Tennis (for the pros) is an Olympic sport, with world calibre champion athletes but for you & me, it’s still a damn fun game to play socially with your friends.
So I ask: Who’s Free for Table Tennis?
Forget scout halls & churches, the sport is hip again with celebs like Ed Norton, Matthew Broderick, the actress Susan Sarandon & rapper 50cent turning up bat in hand, at clubs all round the world wanting a hit!
This Table Tennis fervor is building towards this weekends start to the World Table Tennis Championships in Holland. The top players in the world will all be battling it out for 7 days, May 8-15, for bragging rights on who’s the fastest & of course who’s the world champion. We’ll be getting some exclusive player content, interviews, tips & video, so stay tuned to our Facebook page & follow us on Twitter to keep up with all the action.
Game on!!

Real cool!!
We also threw a Master of Geolocation Startup party with other awesome location based startups like Yobongo & Domo. As the Japanese earthquake & Tsunami had just occured, we also raised funds for the disaster relief.
In all it was a great week at SXSW: we even tried out the new iPad2 on release night…..& Who’s Free’d it!! :
BUG: Just like you, we hate bugs!
March 18th, 2011 by adminSo just a quick heads up to let you know that we are working on fixing a bug. Some of you may not be able to open or sign-in to the app, due to server overload.
We had a massive response at SXSW, with great media interviews with CNN, Washington Post & NHK. Due to this our server was overloaded. We are trying to fix this ASAP!
Its a great problem to have (as more of you are using Who’s Free), but it sux!
Will let you all know once fixed, so please hold on & be patient.
Thanks guys!
SXSW Who’s Free Fundraiser to help save Japan
March 13th, 2011 by adminWe threw our SXSW Masters of GeoLocation party last night with Domo, Yobongo, Gatsby & Soundtrckr.
We dedicated the night to help save victims of the Japan earthquake & tsunami. Our CEO, JD, was a Japanese TV celebrity, lived there for over 10 years & LOVES Japan. So this was a cause dear to everyone’s heart.
We raised some much needed funds to save Japan on the night.
We, along with our great pals over at Domo, are joining together & helping a SXSW Save Japan Fundraising Night to help the earthquake & Tsunami victims of Japan.
The fundraiser will be on Monday 14th, with official announcement taking place during the Japan Mobile Panel on Monday morning at 11am at the Hilton:
